RDLABS
Announces The Iolyzer:
A new standard for embedded systems development
Virtual
Instrument combines functions of 4 test instruments into a single PC
based unit.
Chicago,
IL, March 02, 2000: RDLABS Iolyzer TM
(Patent Applied for) is the world’s first virtual test instrument.
The Iolyzer is designed to be entirely software configurable using
high speed, high density Field Programmable Logic Array (FPGA)
chips. RD Labs has merged four expensive stand-alone instruments
into a single low cost unit. The Iolyzer combines the functions of a
Digital Logic Analyzer, Digital Pattern Generator, EPROM Emulator
and PCI bus monitor. The Iolyzer is a stand-alone unit, which
connects to any Windows PC for display and control functions. As an
Analyzer, it has 128 channels and an effective memory depth of 32
Mega bytes (in differential mode) with capture speeds of 100 MHz (64
channels) and 50 MHz (128 channels). As a pattern generator the
Iolyzer can store 128K by 128 bits wide pattern and play it out at
50 MHz. It provides EPROM emulation for 8 or 16 bit EPROM’s. The
PCI bus monitor includes a PCI bus extender/monitor card and can
handle either 25 or 33 MHz PCI busses.
The Iolyzer has 4 pods of 32 channels each.
Each Pod is independent and can be configured individually.
This implies for example that some pod(s) can operate as analyzers
while other pod(s) are doing pattern generation simultaneously. .
The Iolyzer user interface is a Windows 95/98/NT compliant program
designed expressly for easy operation and quick learning.
